About SBM Department

  • Swachh Bharat Mission aims to provide Waste Management, Sanitation & Hygiene to the residents of Gorakhpur Municipal Corporation to the best of Urban Level.
  • The Swachh Bharat Mission- Urban launched in October 2014 by the Hon'ble Prime Minister resulted in the most fundamental behavioural change brought about in Urban India, primarily becouse the Mission was not implemented as Government programme but as a Jan Andolan.
  • Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM), Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, or Clean India Mission is a country-wide campaign initiated by the Government of India in 2014 to eliminate open defecation and improve solid waste management. The program also aims to increase awareness of menstrual health management.

  • Waste Management Services => Door to Door Segregated Garbage Collection, Scientific Processing & Disposal, Treatment of Sludge and Sewage using STPs and FSTPs.
  • City Beautification => Wall Painting & Wall Writing at Public Spaces to bring awareness and aesthetic look
  • Grievance Redressal => Complains regarding the above mentioned services is resolved within the Service Level Agreement via Swachhata App and Help line number
